Duluth’s Greater Downtown Council event covers UMD’s ties to community

The University of Minnesota Duluth’s community ties will be the focus of the Greater Downtown Council’s Downtown Live event on Wednesday. The topic of the event, part of the council’s speaker series, is strengthening campus and community ties. Hosted by Steve Greenfield in a talk-show format with audience involvement, the event will feature UMD Chancellor Lendley Black and Mayor Don Ness. The series is sponsored by UMD’s Labovitz School of Business and Economics and is aimed at the city’s business community. The event is 4:30-6 p.m. at Zeitgeist Arts Zinema 2, 222 E. Superior St. Cost is $15 for GDC members and $20 for nonmembers. Appetizers and a drink ticket included with admission.
