Reader’s view: UMD neighbors benefit from proactive work

The June 3 story, “After students clear out, UMD program cleans up,” about the pickup and disposal of junk furniture and other student-left items, and the May 28 story, “Duluth police pleased as party calls plummet in college neighborhoods,” together reflects a developed sensitivity on the part of the University of Minnesota Duluth — a large, important institution — to the needs of longtime neighbors who reside near campus.
