What is Redistricting? What Does it Mean to YOU?

Join your LWV Duluth March 24th at UMD LSci 175 and Find Out

Simply put, after the number of legislators (state or federal) has been determined, redistricting is the process used to redraw the lines of each legislative district. Through redistricting, political parties seek to control government, incumbents seek job security, and minority groups seek representation. The completion of the 2010 census was the first step in redistricting both Minnesota and National district electoral boundaries.  So where do we go from here? Come join the LWV Duluth for a detailed discussion of revisions taking place in congress this year, how they will affect you, and what you might do to influence the process.
