Call for Neighborhood Hero Nominees!

Most of you will remember last year, when Larry Sharp of East Hillside and Claudie Washington of Central Hillside were recognized as the first Heroes in our neighborhoods. Over 300 people were present as these community leaders were honored by their friends, neighbors, family, City Councilors, and Mayor Ness. Claudie and Larry have continued to be Heroes and leaders in the community, and we are lucky to have them.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 Neighborhood Heroes in Central Hillside and East Hillside, as well as Lincoln Park, Morgan Park, and West Duluth. These Heroes will be publicly recognized at the annual “Connecting the Dots” event on Saturday, September 26 at Marshall School, from 9:00 am to Noon.

All nominations are needed by Friday, July 3, and will be voted on at the July 7 combined Hillside meeting (6:00 pm at Grant Rec – 901 E 11th St). At this meeting, we will also hear from representatives of the design team working on the new Grant Elementary School. They are very interested in our ideas and feedback for how the new school can be designed to better serve our students and community.

Details for the Neighborhood Hero nominations are below, and the questionnaire is attached: click here for nomination form (PDF).
Please contact Brendan at 727-8604 ext 19 or bhanschen@nhsduluth.org if you have questions. Please feel free to forward as you see fit.
